A drone flies through the hazy blue skies, piercing the clouds like a knife through butter. The mountains covered in crispy white melting snow, standing tall, the pride of the landscape.

“Time, that’s all we got”

Imagine if Yo La Tengo and Joy Zipper got together and recorded a dream pop album, with layers of lush atmospheric soundscapes, beautiful dreamy synths, Slowdive esq guitars with soft gentle haunting vocals that make you just want to drift into another world.

San Francisco based Carta, may have recorded one of those albums (The Sand Collector's Dream) you probably haven’t heard, but should hear.
M83, Moon Duo, The KVB, Spiritualized & Mazzy Star can also be heard on this album, which needs to be heard through a good set of headphones.

The music industry is full of so called music experts who will not listen to a track for longer than 15 seconds, waiting for a hook or a vocal (usually auto tuned). So it’s completely refreshing to listen to a track slowly build. Madeira, the second track on the album really stands out.

It starts with a distorted loop, subtle piano before the drums, bass & synths very gently kick in, Lorealle Bishops vocals are soothing as the guitar adds depth to a brilliantly produced track.

It's music made for snowboard videos, sunny days, fresh powder road trips and slow mo action shots.
